The 2006 James Tait Black Memorial prize winner announced

The winner of Scotland’s most prestigious and UK’s oldest literary award, the James Tait Black Memorial prize, has been announced.

McEwan's SaturdayThe £10,000 prize has been given to Ian McEwan for his novel Saturday. This year’s shortlist has been described as being exceptionally strong, including also Ali Smith’s The Accidental and Kazuo Ishiguro’s Never Let Me Go.

Indeed, I have one of his novels at home, as well. I haven’t read it, though.
