Organizers of the Strega prize, one of Italy’s most important literary awards, have announced a new version of the award, awarded yearly to the best in European literature. One of the aims is to encourage the translation of literary works from across the continent, with European Union funding available for the task. The prize will first be awarded next year, with the first round of voting taking place in February 2008. (Source: Ansa.it)
